Alsace

We headed over to the Alsace region on Friday for a drive around the vineyards and cute French/German towns (our favourites were Ribeauville and Eguisheim). The region is known for its whites and is huge (makes the Okanagan look tiny). The towns were great to walk around in and buy bottles of wine straight from the wine houses, we have no idea what we bought (but we aren't wine connoisseurs so probably won't be able to tell how good/bad they are!) it'll be fun to try them all out over the next few weeks. The regional food was excellent with a mix of French and German flavours and the architecture was also a mix of the two cultures; very different and very cute (yes there is no other way to describe it except as totally adorable!)

Unfortunately it was a short trip - we came home on Saturday tired but with lots of bottles of wine, just in time to have a nap before heading out to the final big party of the year.
