Egypt Day 7 (Cairo)

By now you have probably noticed that we keep wearing the same clothes - we think we should explain... It was cold. No really, it was cold. There were only a few times that it was warm and we only packed one pair of pants and one sweater thinking that we would be wearing shorts and t-shirts the whole time. Oh well.

When Hany picked us up from the train station we headed just outside of Cairo to Sakkara to see a few more pyramids and a tomb which Doug thought was a highlight. It was the tomb of the engineer that build the pyramids and instead of pictures of gods all over the tomb there was pictures of everyday life. So it showed how they fished, hunted, celebrated marriage, etc. Much more interesting then yet another picture of Horus or Osiris, unfortunately no photos allowed inside the tomb.

Then we went to Old Cairo, which is the old Christian part of town and to the Khan El Khalily Bazaar before finding some supper and heading to bed early since we had a early flight out the next day.

Overall it was an amazing trip. Seeing and touching things that are so old is such a weird feeling.
