A Weekend at Home

This is a good time not to be jet set. It is the Mid Autumn Festival and China Town is lit up with festive lanterns and has street shows, fireworks and a lantern procession. We went down for dinner and the atmosphere was fantastic, although we did miss Ellen's yearly lantern making party to really feel apart of this festival.

Looks like Disneyland's Electric Light Parade. (Do they still do that?) Do you think this spate of festivals will keep up? Maybe they don't even do Christmas at all, they're all holiday-ed out by then...

Apparently it is pretty rare for all of these holidays to fall together since some (all?) are lunar. So usually it is even more of a 'one holiday after another' type feel. But Christmas is supossed to be big and then comes Chinese New Year which is supposed to be huge. This year New Year falls late so it will be just before we leave, I am glad that we will be here to see it, I have heard that it is amazing.
