Canada

A whirlwind trip - 3 cities (+2 towns), 2 weddings and lots of visiting all in 2 weeks. Next time we need to stay longer! After a crazy detour into Montreal for repairs and a crew change (because 4 out of 6 toilets on our airplane broke) we arrived in Calgary for a wonderful visit with Melissa, Matt and Alex before continuing on to Kelowna for a week.

Our first day in Kelowna was spent driving up to the Adams River for some white water rafting. Sarah was a bit nervous after her last experience with a fast flowing river and the Chambers boys - but the raft trip was great, the guy in charge seemed to know what he was doing!

Then we headed up to Salmon Arm for a visit with Ellen, Dave and Rosemary. When we got back to town it was time to gear up for Doug's brother's wedding with a bridal shower, rehearsal dinner and then the big day. We managed to make time to try Kian in the lake - too cold and he hated it! During the wedding reception we didn't see Kian for hours at a time as he got introduced all around and enjoyed cuddles. And then we were off to Vancouver. Our time in Kelowna was way too short - we didn't even get out for a water ski!

Once in Vancouver we spent lots of time visiting with friends and family and doing the dreaded shopping (Doug needed new suits and jeans and we did our usual grocery shop for things we miss). We met up with friends and all their kids for a picnic dinner at Maple Grove Pool and got to take Kian swimming for the first time in a warm pool - he didn't hate it! Then we headed out to Maple Ridge for Sarah's moms wedding. At the wedding once again Kian enjoyed being passed around and getting lots of cuddles.

Other things we enjoyed while home were; a DQ cake, blizzards, White Spot grilled cheese, and slurpees almost everyday. Since getting back to the UK Kian has been going through withdrawal - things aren't as fun without tons of people around cooing at him.

You all clean up real nice for weddings, Kian especially! He's becoming so expressive, love the looks of suspicion in the pool.
Hope we can catch up with you soon!
