Nice but pricey
Doug just got back from around 10 days in Moscow on business. The work went well and there is a chance he could be back there more often. Central Moscow was prettier than expected, although these pictures where taken on the only nice patch of weather from the whole trip.
Moscow is incredibly expensive; rooms at the Marriott run at C$1,200 a night and containers of raspberries were selling for C$25. The vast majority of people cannot afford to pay even the fair price of imported fruit for example, but the minority that can afford the luxuries are indifferent to raspberries at C$4 of c$25, so prices are driven up. Moscow is the most expensive city in the world, and actually manages to make London look cheap. The inequity is pretty scary.
The Molten office is right across the square from the infamous Lubyanka Prison which looked suitably scary in the bad weather.
