Pulau Redang

Doug had Friday off so we made the most of it and headed into Malaysia for another dive weekend, this time with friends Anna and Kyle. Don't worry, if you are getting tired of dive entries - this will be our last one for a while!

We had a 10 hour bus ride to get there but it was worth it. The diving was good and the weekend was nice and relaxing, well at least for the girls who didn't have to study the whole bus ride ride home for a mid-term Monday morning! At least the bus ride was nice and long!?

Highlights underwater were; the biggest moray eel we have ever seen, turtles, ginormous barracuda, colourful nudibranches and night diving with great phosphorencents.

We just wish that we had great pictures of all of them! Each time we go diving we are learning a bit more about underwater photography, but Sarah is going to buy a book so that she can remember what she learned from her photography course in high school and then we'll try to use the camera on manual mode to get shots with better colour more consistently. What is an f-stop again?

Those shots are amazing! Getting better pictures will only increase the jealousy factor. Glad things are going well. I can honestly say I don't miss midterms, Sonja on the other hand is missed terribly M-F at the moment. Had a good long weekend though - Happy Thanksgiving.

Our plan is to make you all jealous - that way we will get visitors!

With photos like that you can put your own tourist pamphlet together!
We're flying through Kuala Lumpur in December, short stopovers, airport hotel...sigh...sorry to disappoint.
Paris, though!

Well done! Wonderful pics D and S. Night-time, phosphorescent pics would be amazing too if you can capture that in the future. But I agree, getting better! Good luck on the midterm, Doug. I guess this comment may be late. Say hi to Maziar for me if you see him. Also, you know Kelly's sister lives not far from you (Bright Hill Drive). Keep the trigger finger happy!
