Peanut Butter (oh yeah, visitors too)

Friends, Ellen and Dave, came to visit on their way to Italy and brought Sarah peanut butter; the stuff here that they call peanut butter just isn't the same. So anyone is more then welcome to come and visit but the price of Hotel Chambers is something yummy from home.

We had a great time with Ellen and Dave for the weekend and even though they were totally jet lagged, they were troopers and went to the Museum of Natural History with us right after flying in. Although at one point we thought Dave might curl up with a mammoth for a cozy nap, he did manage to save it for the train ride home.

Then on Sunday we went for a whirlwind trip to downtown before heading back for dinner with other friends and going to a folk artist concert at a bar in Putney which has had lots of famous bands play at it, including U2 and Dwight Yoakam (I wonder if many English people are into country?)

On Monday they wandered around on their own while we had to work but then we enjoyed a nice quiet evening together before they had to fly out early Tuesday morning.

Boxes, boxes everywhere and still no place to sit!

Well our furniture and stuff finally arrived - and only 3 weeks late! But now we realize how small our place really is... it is going to take some creative storage solutions to make it feel like we don't have a 2500 sf house inside a 600 sf apartment.

So now all we're missing is a couch - should be here in another few weeks. Who knew it takes 10 weeks to order a couch!

Being Tourists

Sarah's parents came for a visit before heading up to Skipton to visit Grandad. So we went and saw some sights. First Windsor Castle on Saturday

then on Sunday Hampton Court

and finally a walk through the common. A great weekend being tourists.

A New Start

Well the good news is that we are both liking our new jobs and enjoying our new neighbourhood. The bad news is that we still have no furniture and the moving company is being elusive about when it will be here - makes me wonder if they have lost our stuff! So for now it is picnic dinners on the floor. Sarah's parents come this weekend - we hope they like picnics too!
