Kian got a new bike for his birthday and his legs are finally long enough to use it, on tip toes. He has already sorted out dragging his toes when he wants to slow/stop (how long will shoes last now?).
We had him out a few times and then discovered the huge smile on his face when going fast down hill and decided that if we were going to have one of "those" kids then we better get him a helmet.

Kian seems to think that we got him an off-road bike that he can ride over grass, through gardens and down weedy hills into the marsh to see the ducks and we seem to think that he should stay on the sidewalk. If we try to "fix" his steering and steer a different direction than he wants to go he drags a foot and yanks his handlebars the other way, stubborn kid.
We spent a nice spring day getting ready for summer by building a sandbox at Doug's parents house. Kian was a huge help.
And when he wasn't trying to help he kept us on our toes by playing with sticks with Cooper, exploring Grandma Chambers garden, heading for the water and eating rocks.
Now all we need is some sand and Kian is going to have a sandbox with an amazing view.
Kian and Sarah went to Waterloo Ontario to visit friends Heather, Josh and kids Jamie and Justin for 4 days which meant they were there long enough to see summer, winter and spring. The first day there was beautiful summery weather so out came the water table (which Kian thought would be good to drink) and tent tunnels as well as fun on the swings and eating outside.
Then on Saturday winter hit with hail and snow. So it was down to London to see the childrens' museum and for Kian to meet his great-grandparents. Winter was still around the next day so we went to the local childrens' museum for some in more indoor playtime. Sarah wishes there was something like that in Kelowna to take Kian to on yucky days to wear him out.
And finally on the last day there we got some nice spring weather and headed to the quaint town of St Jacobs for lunch and it's fantastic toy store. On the way home we stopped for gelato, which Kian loved, maybe too much...
Kian loved being with the older kids, watching them and trying to keep up with them and Heather taught him to be musical, since he doesn't get it genetically. All the visiting and fun wore Kian out for the plane ride. Home seems kinda boring now.
Now that spring is here and the daffodils are up we thought we would get some pictures up of our first winter back in Canada (although it was milder here than the UK!). We had a great time cross-country skiing, hanging out at the ski cabin with friends, hiking with the family dog and hanging out with family.
