The Main Event

We spent Christmas morning at our place opening stockings, eating a big breakfast with Sarah's family and then opening the presents. We made the mistake of not wrapping Kian's stocking presents so he tried to push his new puppets back into the stocking hoping that the next time we forced him to remove them they would have paper on them. Each time they came out he cried and instead wanted Doug's stocking with the wrapped underwear and new toothbrush.

(how many adults does it take to put together a train set?)

After nap time, for all of us, we were off to Doug's parents for Christmas dinner. (hopefully pictures to come soon)

Christmas continued on Boxing Day with presents at Doug's parents followed by a drive to Sarah's mom's for more Christmas presents! Needless to say the boys, and us, were spoiled by the end. We also spent a nice sunny day at the aquarium with Sarah's mom where Kian ran around excitedly pointing at all the fish.

The Pre Game Show

Christmas stuff kicked off Dec 11th with a trip down to Vancouver to visit grandparents and friends and go to the German Christmas market (except the line was too long so we went to Granville Island instead) Then the following weekend we went on the Christmas train in Summerland where Kian found Santa a little creepy - he is isn't he? - and went Christmas tree cutting which we are hoping will go better next year! The holiday season was once again plagued with teething grumpiness and Kian was not interested in the snow or roasting hotdogs and put a bit of a damper on the holiday spirit with all the crying, oh well. We then had our first of 3 dinners, this one with Sarah's family. Good thing we both like turkey.

This tree was the best one we have ever had!

Cutie Pie Thug

And competing in the heavyweight division of the family is Asher, who we have now nicknamed Bruiser due to him having no neck and being shaped like a block. For his 2month immunizations he weighed in at 12lbs9oz in the buff (13lbs10oz at the clinic with his clothes on 3 days later - do clothes weigh that much?) He is now wearing clothes that Kian was wearing at 4months; some of the smaller things never got worn this time around - weird how brothers can be so different.

Kian seems to have forgotten what life was like before having a brother and always wants to know where Asher is or to have a bath with him or colour with him or...
