Doting Grandparents Take 3
Last but not least, Sarah's mom and her fiance came over to cuddle Kian...

Ireland

For the May long weekend we decided to hop on a plane and head to Ireland. Kian's first plane ride went very smoothly with him charming the guy beside us before falling asleep.

Once in Ireland we rented the oldest can we had ever seen for rent. It was so old that the car seat didn't fit properly in it and we thought we were going to be stuck without a car for the weekend. But Doug went and sweet talked the rental guy and we got someone elses car and we got a car that the car seat wouldn't topple over every time we went around a corner.
Once again Kian was a superstar and spent dinners in restaurants laughing and playing on the floor charming the restaurant staff and the other diners. We really hope that this ease of travel keeps up! We stayed at a fabulous hotel in Adare and spent the weekend driving around the countryside. The driving there is a bit crazy, with tiny curvey roads with a speed limit of 100km/h.
On the second day we went north to see the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren.

And on the third day we drove around the Ring of Kerry before heading back to the airport where Doug and Kian had a nap at the bar.

2 Months
Kian turns 2months today. We can't believe how fast the time has gone or how much he has grown and changed. He is now weighing in at 11lbs and is becoming more interesting. He likes to have conversations (mostly consisting of "ahhhhh ah ahhh") and to lie on his play mat and look at and bat at the hanging toys, sometimes even making contact.

Although sometimes the toys do not cooperate...

He is possibly the only person in the world who likes Sarah's singing and loves bath time with Doug (picture coming). We love his smiles and giggles and have fun getting him to mimic us to stick his tongue out.
The Rest of the Visit

For the rest of Doug's parents visit we stayed local and enjoyed walks around town and up on the Downs. We even enjoyed a movie date (the new Star Trek) while they babysat - nice!
Devon and Cornwall

After picking Doug's parents up at the airport we heading out to Devon and Cornwall for the long weekend. Again a road trip didn't faze Kian - we hope this continues!
On Saturday we went to Tintagel Castle - legendary birth place of King Arther and the Knights of the Round Table.

On Sunday we headed down to Dartmoor to meet some friends in a pub and to go for a walk in the countryside. On our walk we passed 2 donkeys which then followed us through the next 4 fields - they must have been bored.

Then on Monday we took the scenic route home along the north Devon coast where we found cute little villages and bought a local lamb, well just its coat.
Doting Grandparents Take 2
A week after Sarah's parents left Doug's parents arrived to visit the newest Chambers. Once again Kian was spoiled with cuddles and presents...
